Balmoral DayZ
This is going way back in time. Bazza (Steven Bacic) and I (Dale Pillars) and our girls at the time had a mad 13 room pad (complete with a swimming pool and palm trees and a massive barn) that was designed to accommodate horse agistment. There were 17 stables, and the property was sectioned off accordingly.
One of the reasons we moved there was so my girlfriend at the time could live her childhood dream of agisting her beloved horses. Somehow my chick convinced me that moving from Bondi Beach to the country was a good idea, in fact - she wanted to live the 'horse agistment dream'. All of a sudden, I saw the silver "MX/SX/FMX" lining on the horizon, hence teaming up with my old MX racing buddie Steve, aka: Bazzman, and his chick to complete the puzzle.
Within days of moving in, half of the property was bulldozed with a twenty tonne excavator, fences and stables were completely demolished, and truck after truck of carefully monitored clay were shipped in. Needless to say, the horses ended up schizo, (not to mention the girlfriends), when day after day, the boys would rock up with their rigs (and leave them in the barn for easy access) and ultimately turn the joint into a dustbowl.
This footage is only a very early snippet, (we had bugger all fill at this stage - we'd only just moved in). I wish we nailed more footage then we did. As time progressed, so did the track, to the point where carloads of keen SX (Supercross) riders, looking for a training session would line up in our long ass driveway, and ask to come in, and so did the local council, wanting to fine us for our follies.
We had some rocking parties at this place. On one particular occasion, (when my girlfriend was overseas) we had DJ's in different sections of the house and property, playing different styles, (deep house, breaks, funk, chill-out, death metal, and all sorts) and out in one of the main paddocks, we had hardcore industrial lighting with a FMX (Freestyle Motocross) set-up that kicked in sometime after midnight, when everyone was trollied, much to the neighbours amusement, NOT. (The main track had a huge kicker up the guts, as well as a mega landing ramp to suit. Bazzman in-advertently killed a few key sections of our supercross track to pull up the required fill).
I recall hanging out of the scoop of the twenty tonner, off-chops, hanging on by the hair of my chinny-chin-chin with one arm, video camera in the other, whilst Bazza (also off-chops) was swinging this thing around like some wild theme park ride out of 'Magic Mountain', whilst the boys whipped it backwards/upside down past my forehead. The party was in awe. The tunes were pumping. Good times indeed. People still talk about it.
The riders in this ancient 2 stroke snippet are: Joshua Pillars and Dale Pillars, and Steven Bacic busting the "ski jump" at Louee (motocross/trail riding park in NSW Australia) - at the very end (the only half decent air).
Bazzman is holding the video camera and narrating. (You can tell because his filming ability is... unique - as he normally points the video camera at the ground, or holds it sideways/upside-down).
